Thailand

Building libraries

Libraries have been built in 11 schools in Nan province, Phitsanulok province and Nakhon Sawan province so far. In rural areas in Thailand, many schools do not have enough of the facilities necessary to educate children, nor do they have a reading environment as a base of their education program. In these areas, there are no bookshops, so school libraries are important places for children to acquire knowledge. Nomad helps build and manage libraries, send books to newly built libraries, and implements programs to encourage children to develop good reading habits. Nomad carries out projects, while investigating the needs of the teachers and children and the local people, in order to ensure our activities are both effective and practical.
