Thailand

The Library Project

In rural areas in northeast Thailand, in cooperation with the Foundation For Children (FFC), an NGO in Thailand, schools and local people, Nomad International builds libraries and strives to create a better reading-environment

In Thailand, Nomad International’s activities started with a comprehensive survey, followed by an action plan based on the survey results. The initial phase of library building and structural improvements grew into a mobile library project touring local schools, as well as a number of family libraries. These two projects have improved the whole reading-environment by targeting both children and adults too. We have also implemented programs to encourage children to read independently, and established various projects to get them more interested in books, and more aware of how much fun getting information through reading can be.
